She’s almost here…

April 30, 2011

Assuming Baby Cooper (who has a name but we aren’t telling yet) doesn’t come tonight we will get to meet her tomorrow.  It’s crazy that the time is already here and we can’t wait to meet her.  It made me look back at the day Landry was born and how special that day was for us and how special tomorrow will be as well!

Laura sent me this verse this week to remind me of how Great our God is and how special our little girl is to Him.

Psalm 139:13: For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

So I guess I needed one more picture.  Here I am 39 weeks!

Baby Coop’s Sono Pics

April 30, 2011

Here are a few pictures we got when I was 31 weeks of Baby Coop.

Now here is a reminder of what Landry’s looked like

I guess Jared’s has some strong genes.  I think we will have another Jared and Landry look alike.

Laura and Berkley come visit for my birthday

April 27, 2011

Well this year I turned 30!  I had a great birthday week and as always lived it up as much as I could.  Laura and Berkley flew in to spend a long week end with me.  It was a great way to spend my b-day.  Here are a few pictures from our week end.

Laura didn’t get a break at all from reading bed time stories

The Rodeo was in town which is a big deal for San Angelo.  We took the girls to the Rodeo parade the next day and I think Laura and I enjoyed it just as much as they did.  Even though Laura grew up in Texas and knows how Texas is she was cracking up at all the random cowboy(ish) things that were in the parade.  I think Kansas is really rubbing off on her now.  In her defense I have to say I haven’t seen many cowboys riding Longhorns either.

We managed to get one picture of all 4 of us

It didn’t take long for Landry to take over Sadie Piper’s big sister role.

Jared getting to take them both on

Berkley loved playing outside and enjoying the warmer weather and for some reason I couldn’t get the pictures any bigger.

We had such a great time having them here.  Our visit is never long enough and it gave me some time to love on little Berkley.

In Need of Water

April 27, 2011

Back in Februrary San Angelo hit record lows.  Within a few days we went from 4 degrees to 80 degrees.  Something really crazy like that.  Our water ended up freezing at the meter and left us waterless for a little over 2 days.  Let me tell you this will make you appreciate having access to water sooooo much.  We weren’t sure how long this would last so we took Jared’s water trailor to the carwash and filled it up so we could rinse off dishes, flush toilets, etc.  We bought lots of bottled water to get us byand then called up our sweet neighbors Jim and Evy Estes and asked if we could come over and all take showers.  They were so sweet to allow us to use their running water for awhile.   When we arrived at their back door we found this sign taped to the door.  So funny!  A huge thanks to them for allowing us to come over.  Such great neighbors!!!

Ready to go find deer

April 26, 2011

Landry will look through her binoculars (in the house I might add) and say, ” I see deer dad, I see deer”.  Now granted in our house you can see deer on the walls but I think she is gearing up to go watch deer this next year with him.

Some January Pictures

April 26, 2011

These first few pictures were taken in January.  We were out enjoying the warm weather which has stayed with us for the most part.

Jared working on his deer feeders…..already getting ready for next hunting season.

Landry loves to use her little Dirt Devil she got at Christmas.  It is kind of disturbing that a toy for a little girl is a vaccum and we are all ok with this.

Daddy Daughter Time

April 25, 2011

Waiting for the cookies to finish so they can dive in

I think he has many days of painting girl’s toes in his future.  Camey looks to be enjoying Landry’s sleeping bag on the couch while she is busy.

Carley’s Big Buck

April 25, 2011

Jared took Brian and Carley out hunting one evening to see if Carley could get her a buck this year.  Well did she ever!!!  Great buck Carley!  We were out in our front yard (once again) taking pics of a deer.  I’m sure our neighbors love hunting season…..they never know what will appear in our front yard.

I love this picture of Jared and Carley

Playdate with Mason

April 24, 2011

Ashley (Mason’s mom) and I wanted to get the kids outside since it was such a pretty afternoon.  Although Landry can say Mason she calls him Macy when referring to him.

Big in 2010 Part 2

April 24, 2011

Although I’m months behind and my hunting season ended last year I needed to include my last hunt of the year.  This hunt was in the morning and although I’m not a big fan of morning hunts I figured it would be kind of nice getting back home by 9:30am.  Jared informs me I need to be ready to go soon after 5:00am…..that is just SUPER!!!!!  This time when hiking to the blind you can’t see much because it is still dark and stays dark for a lot of the morning.  Jared was watching deer through his binoculars far before I knew there was anything alive down there by the feeder.  He just has the eye for them I guess.  I have to say it was really nice getting to watch the sun rise.

As soon as I could see down by the feeder there was several deer.  It didn’t take long for a nice 8 to come into the feeder.  Jared had seen this one a lot and told me about him several times.  We were in no hurry and I wanted to wait and watch and see what other bucks might come out.  After awhile I really started watching the 8 point and seeing if this was one I wanted to shoot.  He started moving from one feeder to another so I got my binoculars to take a better look.  It wasn’t long after I did that the MY BIG BUCK started walking in.  All I could say was “Big Buck, Big Buck!”  Jared knew this deer as well but said he hadn’t seen him in quite a well.  There was my hunters luck again.  It took me about 2 seconds to decide I was going to take this deer, so I got set up and as soon as he was broadside I took the shot.  I think it all happened in about 5 min. or less or so it seemed.  My adrenaline was in high gear and I was confident in this shot.  We were able to find the deer shortly after and it was very exciting for us both!  This 10 point is my biggest buck so far and I might have to do a few more morning hunts if they end up like this.  I would say this hunting season was a big success for me, and like I said before I owe it all to my great guide.  Till next year honey!
