Landry’s 4th of July Day!

August 31, 2010

I took the 4th off and kept Landry home.  We just had a fun day together although it started out with figuring out how to kill the HUGE taranchula!  Jared left for work and I was left with dealing with the spider out back.  Jared doesn’t like spiders either.  He told me to get the water hose after it…..I mean really at any moment I knew it would fly through the air and land on my face so we left the house and waited till he was home at lunch to wash him away.  I know they say they are nice but they are just big and hairy and scary to me.

We headed to Academy first….Landry has this store down due to our frequent visits

She got 2 balls, bubbles, and some new sketcher kicks…..quite a trip!

Then off to the mall to window shop and ride ALL of the rides they had

Then we ended the day with DQ ice cream!

Neighborhood 4th of July Parade

August 30, 2010

This year I wanted to check out the Santa Rita 4th of July parade.  This neighborhood has been putting on a parade for the 4th for many years.  It’s neat to see everyone in the area getting so involved.

Here they come….kids, adults, animals you name it.  They even handed out Santa Rita t-shirts!

Kennedi’s 2nd Birthday Party

August 28, 2010

It was so fun watching all the kids play in the pool.  They are all growing up so much.  Although we would have all liked to get a group picture of them it just wasn’t happening.

Happy Birthday Kennedi!

Fun Park Time

August 27, 2010

We have been enjoying the parks this summer!  Of course we have to go before 10:00 in the morning so the heat isn’t that bad.  Landry just goes from slide to swing to sandbox back to another slide….it’s just too much and she is all over the place.

I love these chair swings too

She calls this one “Barney”

Another day, same park.  Kim and Jeff’s daughter Maci playing with Landry

Jared’s 30th Surprise Party

August 25, 2010

We actually pulled off a surprise party for Jared.  I’m not sure if I’ll ever do one again ,but I’m so glad it all turned out great! We had friends and family out to the lake house to celebrate.  Thank you to all of you who came and helped plan the big birthday bash!!!!

Jared’s BirthDAY

August 20, 2010

I love celebrating birthdays, so for Jared’s 30th I had to decorate the dining room area with streamers and cards.  Thank you to everyone who sent him a card or note for me to hang around the room.  It was fun for him to get all those sweet messages on his special day!

Jared asked for sausage, biscuits and gravy for his b-day lunch so that’s what we had.  It was soooo yummy!

Jared loves a good western

The babysitter took the picture before we headed out for Birthday dinner.

She put together the sock and houseshoes combo herself and was quite pleased with what she had done

Thank You God For Sunsets

August 16, 2010

The sunsets at Lake Leon are pretty incredible and this trip they were no different.  I had to take several pictures to capture how beautiful it really was.  No matter what is going on in my life when I sit on that dock and watch the sun go down I seem to forget all the worries, stresses, and frustrations of daily life and instead all my attention is directed to how Great our God is.  He shows himself every time I watch the sun go down.

Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. ~ Psalm 103:2,

I love this picture

The Lake House

August 15, 2010

Mom, Chad, and I have recenlty sold my grandparents lake house.  We planned a trip to the lake in May (I know awhile back) to enjoy it one last time before we closed on the property.  We had such a great time and really tried to soak in all the great things we love about the lake.  We are really excited about the couple that bought the property and excited to see what they will do with the house.  We still plan on going down there as often as we can.  My grandparents lake property has given me 25 years of great memories that I have been able to share with family and friends.  I will always be so grateful for the joy and love I experienced while being there!

On the hunt for skipping rocks and shells

Mom decided to try out some Indian painting on her face with rocks and Landry was helping her get it off

I don’t know anyone that can skip rocks like my brother.  He has the arm for it I guess.  He was skipping rocks over Mama’s old dock , in between the openings of the new dock, and over the new one too.  Pretty impressive!  I know there has to be some rock skipping competition we can get him into.  🙂

Time for cooking out.  Chad was in charge of lighting the grill and thankfully he did it successfully without hurting himself or anyone else.  In the video he asks if this is blog worthy so of course I had to add it.

Ken preparing the food…..doesn’t it look so pretty!!!!

Papa is the best because he brought the swing.
